h1. Authorization * Get contacts ** Civil Aviation Authority contacted via email copy of correspondence in SVN - source:/Alpha_team/CAA_correspondence.txt ** Icelandic weather service contacted via telephone * What authorizations are required for the flight ** Authorization from CAA It´s not entirely sure if this is required or not. Further correspondance with CAA will hopefully clear this up. Our craft being unmanned and sub 150 kg is only governed by local law ^[[Authorization#Notes|(1)]]^ and not by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency). ** Authorization from land owner of the launch site * Regulations that my apply ** "Reglugerð um flokkun loftfara":http://www.reglugerd.is/interpro/dkm/WebGuard.nsf/aa0d47377abc977400256a090053ff91/63329365b625c731002572a00046e91e?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,EASA ** "Reglugerð um heimasmíði loftfara":http://www.reglugerd.is/interpro/dkm/WebGuard.nsf/aa0d47377abc977400256a090053ff91/8bc90b6069a0ffe300256a080031609a?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,lofth%C3%A6fi ** "REGULATION (EC) No 216/2008 on common rules in the field of civil aviation":http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2008:079:0001:0049:EN:PDF ^[[Authorization#Notes|(2)]]^ h2. Notes # http://www.caa.is/Loftfor/EASAvottunloftfara/ # Note especially Annex II-(i) (page 33 of document) wich states that unmanned aircraft with an operating mass of no more than 150 kg are excempt from articles 4(1), 4(2) and 4(3). Wich basically means that none of the regulation applies in our case.
